Royole FlexPai 2 foldable phone release date, price, news and features

The Royole FlexPai was the first foldable phone that most people could buy, and now its successor has launched – meet the Royole FlexPai 2. The original Royole FlexPai stood from the mass of standard ‘chocolate-bar’ phones all on its own, but the FlexPai 2 doesn’t have that distinction. In a world of Huawei Mate Xses, Motorola Razrs and Samsung Galaxy Folds, novelty alone won’t be enough to propel the FlexPai 2 to success. It’s a good thing, then, that the Royole FlexPai 2 looks pretty well specced-out, from its processor to its camera array. The main thing we don’t know right now is international pricing, but given that we’ve yet to see a folding phone that’s affordable, we’re expecting it to be expensive. We’re still waiting on global launch details, but the Royole FlexPai 2 has had an official launch in China, so we know about its design and most of its specs, and below we’ll tell you everything you need to know about the new folding phone. Royole FlexPai 2 release date and price Royole FlexPai 2 (Image credit: Royale) The Royole FlexPai 2 launch was in September 2020, but that was only in China, and there’s no word on when it’s coming to the rest of the world. In China the phone costs RCNY9988, which roughly converts to $1,470 / £1,150 / AU$2,040, although when the phone launches internationally those converted prices could end up being way off. We’ve no idea which regions the Royale FlexPai 2…Continue readingRoyole FlexPai 2 foldable phone release date, price, news and features

Scientists confirm holding a cat in your dating app profile won’t get you a date

If you’ve used a dating app, you’ll know the importance of choosing good profile pics. These photos don’t just relay attractiveness; a recent study suggested that 43% of people think they can get a sense of someone’s personality by their picture. You might guess that someone who has included a photo of themselves hiking is an outdoorsy type of person. But as scientists who study human-animal interactions, we wanted to know what this meant for pet owners – in particular, male cat owners. If you’re a guy who owns a cat, what kind of effect does it have on suitors if you post a picture posing with your favorite feline? Prior studies suggested that women do judge a potential male partner based on whether he has pets. While they favor men with dogs, the results showed that they also give men with cats an edge over non-pet owners. Because of this, we reasoned that men pictured with cats would probably be viewed as more attractive and desirable than men who didn’t pose with any animals. In our study, we recruited 1,388 heterosexual American women from 18 to 24 years old to take a short anonymous online survey. In the survey, we presented them with photos of one of two young white men in their early 20s either posing alone or with a cat. To avoid biasing the women’s responses, we randomly presented which photo they saw first. Each participant only rated one man, with and without a cat. [Read: Are…Continue readingScientists confirm holding a cat in your dating app profile won’t get you a date

Xiaomi Mi 10T release date, price, news and leaks

It’s starting to seem like the Xiaomi Mi 10T might be the next big phone from the Chinese company, and it could be coming very soon. The Xiaomi Mi 10 marked an emphatic entry into the premium smartphone market for Xiaomi, and a departure from the mid-range price point that the Xiaomi Mi 9, among others, sat. In the same way that phone had the Mi 9T succeed it later in the year, it seems the Mi 10 might have a Mi 10T coming soon. This isn’t totally speculation on our part – it would fit the company’s annual refresh cycle, and it’s also something the company itself has teased – there’s more on that below.  The Xiaomi Mi 10T isn’t the only big phone we’re expecting from the company soon – the Mi Note 11 is expected towards the end of the year, with perhaps the Mi 11 in the beginning of 2020. But we’re expecting the Mi 10T to be the next one out of the gate, representing all the top tech from the company. We don’t know too much about the Xiaomi Mi 10T just yet, but a few pieces of information have leaked, and Xiaomi has confirmed quite a bit too. Read on to find out what we know so far. Cut to the chase What is it? An upgraded version of the Mi 10 from Xiaomi When is it out? By the end of September What will it cost? We’re not sure yet Xiaomi Mi…Continue readingXiaomi Mi 10T release date, price, news and leaks

Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070: release date, price, news and features

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 is on its way, having been announced at Nvidia’s launch event. After months of speculations and rumors, the GPU is slated for an October release. And, it’s already looking to be much better than many had hoped.  So far, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 is the most affordable entry in Nvidia’s new Ampere lineup, setting you back $499/£469. While ‘affordable’ is certainly a relative term – it’s still an expensive card for many consumers – it won’t come with the wallet-busting price tag that the RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 come with. Better yet, with that much lower price tag, it puts the RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti to shame, rocking specs that seem too good to be true. It does have slower RAM than the rest of the Ampere line-up, and new rumors point to both an RTX 3070 ‘Super’ and an RTX 3070 Ti being in the works. Still, for most people excited about the new tech that Nvidia is ushering in with its RTX 3000 series, then the RTX 3070 will be the best GPU. To add even more value, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 will be bundled with a free copy of Watch Dogs: Legion and a free year of subscription to GeForce Now. If you have the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 on your wishlist, read on. We went ahead and gathered up all the information on the graphics card that we have right now in one spot. Apple Watch Series 6 and SE: Price, Details, Release Date

The products Apple announced in its short, one-hour presentation Tuesday morning were in line with the rumors and speculation that preceded the event. We’ve known the company’s September product showcase was going to focus on wrist-worn wearables ever since Apple invited us to watch the streaming presentation with a graphic titled “Time Flies.” So, we were expecting a couple of Apple Watches, and today, they’re here. There’s a premium model called Apple Watch Series 6 and a lower-cost model called Apple Watch SE. The premium model starts at $399 for the version with GPS; the model that adds cellular capabilities starts at $499. It runs off a modified version of Apple’s A13 processor that was introduced in the iPhone 11. The SE model, with a lower-powered processor, starts at $279. You can ready your wrist now: Both will ship this Friday, September 18. As usual, much of Apple’s Watch pitch focused on features that help improve and maintain its users’ health. The company delivered the same message last year, when it highlighted features like emergency calling and fall detection. This time around, of course, that appeal to safety might hit a little harder than in years past, with much of the country living through multiple life-threatening disasters. And while a wearable computer might not be able to protect you from wildfire smoke or a deadly virus, Apple is still keen to point out how it can do a body good. Gas Light The big health feature announced for the Watch…Continue readingApple Watch Series 6 and SE: Price, Details, Release Date
