Microsoft Surface Go 3 release date, leaks and price: what we want to see

Rumors about the Microsoft Surface Go 3 are starting to emerge, even though Surface Go 2 only came out in May 2020, and we’re still a ways away from its expected release date.  Perhaps the biggest one is from a forum post on Tablet PC Review, suggesting that the next-generation Surface Go could be powered by new Ryzen chips, one of which has a very low 4.8W TDP (thermal design power).  If this rumor is to be believed, the Surface Go 3 could be transitioning from the Intel processors that powered earlier models to AMD mobile chips. This could only mean good things for consumers. Not only will the device have better battery life, but it may potentially be cheaper as well, offering budget-friendly configurations of one of the best Windows tablets to economizing consumers. This is all speculation at this point, but we still can’t help but be excited to see what else Microsoft has planned for its most affordable tablet. So, we thought this as good of a time as any to gather everything we know about – and everything we want from – the Microsoft Surface Go 3.  Be sure to keep this page bookmarked, as we’ll update it with any new details that reach our desks. Cut to the chase What is it? The next-generation Surface Go   When is it out? TBC  What will it cost? Probably starting around $399 (£379, AU$599)   Surface Go 3 release date  The Surface Go 2 was unveiled on May…Continue readingMicrosoft Surface Go 3 release date, leaks and price: what we want to see

Forget the Surface Go 2 tablet, this challenger comes with a keyboard and stylus for half the price

Pipo W11 tablet – $269.99 at Banggood(£212.40/AU$383.51)Pipo is not a household brand, but given the W11 costs less than half the price of the Microsoft Surface Go 2 – and offers superior performance, storage and connectivity – it’s well worth a look.View Deal The new Surface Go 2 tablet from Microsoft received a solid review from TechRadar; we described it as “an excellent affordable Windows 10 tablet that features a premium design found in the company’s more expensive devices”.  However, if you want something even more affordable, you should check out the Pipo W11, which retails for about half the price of Microsoft’s diminutive tablet. Pipo is not a household name, but we’ve known about the company since 2014 when it unveiled the Pipo W2 tablet. The W11 follows in the footsteps of that 6-year old device, which back in the day ran on a little-known OS called Windows 8.1. The W11 also comes with a keyboard cover and stylus, all for the princely sum of $269.99 (£212.40/AU$383.51). For comparison, the cheapest Surface Go 2 configuration with pen and keyboard cover retails for $568.97 – more than twice the price.  The W11 wins out when it comes to performance, with its Celeron N4100 CPU trouncing the Surface Go 2’s Pentium 4425Y, according to CPUBenchmark. It’s also superior when it comes to storage (Pipo’s candidate has 64GB eMMC plus a dedicated 180GB SSD) and connectivity (the W11 has three more ports than its rival). On the other hand, the Surface Go…Continue readingForget the Surface Go 2 tablet, this challenger comes with a keyboard and stylus for half the price
