Watch this self-driving race car hilariously smash into a wall

Autonomous vehicles will save us all! Self-driving cars are the future! …or, so I thought until I watched the following clip. Before we get to that, a bit of background. The video below is from a recent live broadcast of Roborace, the world’s first all autonomous full-scale motor race series. It’s a pretty simple concept: teams use their own electrically powered self-driving vehicles to race around real-life racetracks. All teams use the same chassis and drivetrain, but are responsible for coming up with their own self-driving software to actually drive the car. Like all other motor races, the fastest wins. [Read: 4 ridiculously easy ways you can be more eco-friendly] It’s been around for a few years already, and it seems it’s still got a little way to go before the cars are, uhm, finished. Earlier this week, at one of the race’s live broadcasted events, the vehicle from team Acronis SIT Autonomous, was waiting on the grid. Situation normal. However, immediately after taking off from the line, it crashed into a wall that runs alongside the home stretch. Obviously, no one was hurt. See it for yourself below. ‘Watch Dogs: Legion’ Tackles Surveillance Without Humanity

Back in 2015, when creative director Clint Hocking and his team began crafting the near-future world of Watch Dogs: Legion, some of the biggest tech companies in the world were confidently predicting skies buzzing with package-delivery drones and streets full of autonomous vehicles. Everyone would be using cryptocurrency, playing AR games, and making stuff on 3D printers. So into the game they went. Technology moves faster than game development. For a speculative fiction game about mass surveillance, that creates some problems. “Technology companies—Tesla, Amazon—had started talking publicly about pretty aggressive timelines, schedules, and regulations,” Hocking said in an interview with WIRED. Navigating the marketing babble, his team overshot the mark. On October 29, Watch Dogs: Legion will release as both a game and a time capsule from 2015, back when a couple of big, stock-inflating daydreams painted a picture for 2020 that’s still far from materializing. It’s cute, like remembering how in the ’80s, your geeky friend wouldn’t shut up about how Star Trek’s holodecks would so totally happen. Except these forecasts are from just yesterday. Hocking’s team didn’t have a crystal ball, or an all-knowing AI, to tell the future. Realme Watch S is making its global debut on November 2

Previous leaks suggested that the Realme Watch S was certified on FCC much like its Pro variant. And now the global release date of the smartwatch has been revealed by the company itself.  In a new tweet from the official handle, the company announced that the Realme Watch S is arriving on November 2. The tweet also mentions some of the specs that the smartwatch is set to come with. Realme Watch S: Leaked specs The tweet happens to mention that the Realme Watch S will come with 16 Sports mode, a 1.3-inch auto-brightness adjustment display and multiple health monitors. The image attached also mentions that it will apparently feature a 15-day battery life along with a heart rate and blood oxygen monitor.  Previous leaks of the FCC certification states that the Realme Watch S has a model designation RMA207. According to the listing it apparently features a 390 mAh battery and has an IP68 rating. It confirms that it will also feature the heart rate and SpO2 sensors.
