It feels like we’ve been waiting ages for Star Trek: Discovery season 3, but hopefully we’ll be setting ourselves some new intergalactic co-ordinates soon. However, while we saw a first trailer back in October and filming has now finished, work completed remotely on post-production and editing has clearly been challenging.

Now that Picard has finished, with a few Short Treks mini adventures coming after that, Star Trek: Discovery season 3 comes as part of a plan to ensure that the Final Frontier stays on our small screens for good, and we’re not complaining. Executive producer Alex Kurtzman told The Hollywood Reporter that he wants ” something Star Trek on the air all the time, but not necessarily on top of each other.” Next is the debut of animated comedy series Lower Decks in 2020.
